Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 5, 2026

Our Terms of Service contractually govern the relationship between you, the organization or registrant using our service, and Attending. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose information.

TL;DR: Attending and Privacy

Attending is a registration tool for small organizations running paid events — PTAs, youth sports leagues, camps, dojos, and similar groups. We collect the information needed to run those events: registrant contact details, waiver signatures, payment confirmations, and the operational data the organizer needs to run their event.

We recognize that our systems need to be secure and trustworthy for the families and organizations that use them. If you have any questions about this Policy or our privacy practices generally, please contact us using the contact information at the bottom of this page. We also offer ways to access, correct, and delete your information, which we describe in "Your Options and Rights Regarding Your Information."

What we collect, and how we use and disclose it: Attending collects information from or about you from three sources: the information you give us, the information we collect automatically when you use our service, and the information we collect from third-party sources such as our payment processor. The types of information we collect include identifying information (name, email, contact information), information about the device you use to interact with us (IP address, user agent, server-log metadata), and any information associated with your event registration (waiver signatures, participant details). We use that information to operate the service for organizers and to deliver registrations to them. We disclose information primarily to the service providers that support our business functions like database hosting, email delivery, and payment processing.

Payment Security: We use Stripe to handle payment information and process transactions. Card details are sent directly to Stripe and never touch our servers. Organizers connect their own Stripe accounts via Stripe Connect (Express); registrant payments settle directly into those accounts and the organizer is the merchant of record on every transaction. Attending does not take a percentage of registration fees collected through forms. Standard Stripe processing fees apply and are deducted by Stripe from each transaction. Attending separately maintains a Stripe customer record for each organization solely to charge the per-event platform fee against the card on file. Because Stripe is a separate company with its own privacy practices, if you have questions about Stripe's handling of your payment information, please see Stripe's Privacy Policy.

Thanks for using Attending.

Scope of this Policy

This privacy policy applies to our "Services," which are:

  • Attending, Inc. ("Attending," "we," "us," "our").
  • The Attending registration platform.
  • Attending's online properties, including our website at getattending.com and any subdomain that links to it.
  • Attending's products and services, including registration forms built and operated by organizations on our platform.

This Policy applies when you interact with us through our Services. It also applies anywhere it is linked. It does not apply to third-party websites, applications, or services that may link to the Services or be linked to from the Services. Please review the privacy policies on those websites and applications directly to understand their privacy practices.

We may change this Policy from time to time. If we do, we will notify you by posting the updated version and, for material changes, by emailing organization administrators.

Information We Collect

We collect information from you directly, from the devices you use to interact with us, and from third parties. We may combine information from the Services together and with other information we obtain from our business records. We may use and share information that we aggregate (compile to create statistics that cannot identify a particular individual) or de-identify (strip information of all unique identifiers such that it cannot be linked to a particular individual) at our discretion.

Information you give us

You may provide the following information to us directly:

  • Contact and account information for organizers, including name, email address, organization name, and organization slug.
  • Registration information when you sign up for an event through a form built on Attending: typically participant names, contact information, custom fields the organizer added, and any waiver signatures required for the event.
  • Information you include in messages to us — for example, in support emails or in the contact form on our website.
  • Any other information you submit to us.

Information we collect automatically

We may use log files, cookies, or similar technologies to collect the following information from the device you use to interact with our Services. We also create records when you submit a registration or otherwise interact with the Services.

  • Registration audit information, including IP address and user agent at the time you sign a waiver or submit a registration. This is captured for the legal audit trail attached to every waiver signature.
  • Device information, including IP address, device identifiers, and details about your web browser.
  • Analytical information, including details about your interaction with our website and the forms you build or submit.
  • Diagnostic information, including web traffic logs used to operate and secure the service.
  • Business record information, including records of paid plans purchased by organizations.

Information we collect from other sources

We may collect the following information about you from third-party sources.

  • Payment confirmations from Stripe when a registrant completes a transaction, including the last four digits of the card used and the success or failure status of the transaction.
  • Email delivery information from Resend (our email service provider) — for example, whether a confirmation email was successfully delivered to a registrant.
  • If you disclose information about other people to us (for example, when registering family members or sending us a referral), you agree that you have the authority to provide that information. You agree that you will not send us the contact information of a minor except as a parent or guardian for the purpose of registering that minor for an event.

Organizers

Organizers create accounts with Attending to build and publish registration forms. We collect the organizer's contact information and the organization's details (name, slug, branding) to create and administer the account. We use the technologies described above to collect information about how organizers use their accounts.

When a registrant signs up for an event through a published form, the resulting registration data is shared with the organizer that owns the form. The organizer is the party responsible for the registrant relationship — Attending acts as a processor on the organizer's behalf for that registration data.

How We Use Your Information

Our primary purpose for using your information is to operate the registration service: rendering forms, processing waivers and capacity, delivering email confirmations, and providing organizers with rosters of who is coming to their events. We also use the information we collect for the following purposes.

  • Service functionality: To provide registration forms, run waiver and capacity logic, process payments through Stripe, send email confirmations to registrants, support organizers when they have questions, and conduct general business operations such as accounting, recordkeeping, and audits.
  • Service improvement: To improve and grow our Services, including to develop new features and understand how our Services are being used.
  • Security: To protect and secure our Services, assets, network, and business operations, and to detect, investigate, and prevent activities that may violate our policies or be fraudulent or illegal.
  • Legal compliance: To comply with legal process, such as warrants, subpoenas, court orders, and lawful regulatory or law enforcement requests, and to comply with applicable legal requirements.
  • Communications about the Service: To send service communications to organizers, such as billing notices, security alerts, and changes to these policies. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use registrant data to advertise to registrants.

How We Share Your Information

We may share information we collect with the following recipients.

  • Organizers: When you register for an event through an Attending form, that registration is shared with the organizer that built the form. The organizer is the party responsible for delivering the event and for any communications with you about the event. Attending acts as a processor on the organizer's behalf.
  • Service providers: We engage vendors to perform specific business functions on our behalf. These vendors are obligated by contract to use information that we share only for the purpose of providing those business functions. They include:
    • Hosting and infrastructure: Vercel (web hosting), Neon (database), Vercel Blob (file storage).
    • Payment processing: Stripe.
    • Email delivery: Resend.
    • Spam protection: Cloudflare (Turnstile challenge on public forms).
    • Auditing, accounting, and professional services: firms that assist us with financial records, legal services, and other operational support.
  • Government entities / law enforcement: We may share information when we believe in good faith that we are lawfully authorized or required to do so to respond to lawful subpoenas, warrants, court orders, or other regulatory or law enforcement requests, or where necessary to protect our property or rights or the safety of our employees, our customers, or other individuals.
  • Other businesses in the context of a commercial transaction: We may change our ownership or corporate organization while providing the Services. We may transfer to another entity or its affiliates or service providers some or all information about you in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, acquisition, sale of assets or any line of business, change in ownership control, or financing transaction. We cannot promise that an acquiring party or the merged entity will have the same privacy practices or treat your information as described in this policy.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share registration data with advertising networks. We do not use the contents of waivers or registration forms for marketing.

Security

We use a combination of physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect the information we collect through the Services. Payment card information is sent directly to Stripe and is never stored on our servers. Database access is restricted and audited. While we use these precautions to safeguard your information, we cannot guarantee the security of the networks, systems, servers, devices, and databases we operate or that are operated on our behalf.

Your Options and Rights Regarding Your Information

Your account: Organizers can view and update their account information through the Attending dashboard. Registrants who want to update or delete information about a specific registration should contact the organizer of that event directly — they own the registration relationship.

Email: To opt out of marketing or product-update emails from Attending, use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email or contact us. Transactional emails (registration confirmations, security notices, account billing) cannot be unsubscribed from while you have an active account.

Do Not Track: We honor Do Not Track signals from your browser to the extent feasible.

Jurisdiction-specific rights: You may have certain rights with respect to your personal information depending on your location or residency. Please see "Privacy Disclosures for Specific Jurisdictions" below. To exercise your rights, contact us at the email address listed at the bottom of this page.

Other Important Information

Data retention

We retain account and registration information for as long as the organizer's account is active. When an organizer deletes a form or registration, we soft-delete it (preserving the audit trail) and purge it entirely after a reasonable retention window. When an organizer closes their account, we delete account and registration data within 30 days unless we are required by law to retain it longer.

Cross-border data transfer

We may collect, process, and store your information in the United States and other countries. The laws in the United States regarding information may be different from the laws of your country. Any such transfers will comply with safeguards as required by relevant law.

Information about children

The Services are not intended for direct use by children under 13. When events involve minors (youth sports, camps, school events), parents or guardians register on the child's behalf, and waivers are signed by the parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will delete it. Please contact us with any concerns.

Privacy Disclosures for Specific Jurisdictions

California

California residents are entitled once a year, free of charge, to request and obtain certain information regarding our disclosure, if any, of certain categories of personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes in the preceding calendar year. We do not currently disclose personal information for third-party direct marketing purposes. Please contact us if you have questions about this.

Nevada

Residents of the State of Nevada have the right to opt out of the sale of certain pieces of their information to third parties. We do not engage in such sales. If you are a Nevada resident and would like more information about our data sharing practices, please contact us.
